Eisen-ji Temple

Architecture
This temple belongs to the Myoshin-ji school of the Rinzai sect, and Shakamuni Nyorai is its principal deity. It is thought to have been built by Taishu Sokan from Myoshin-ji Temple’s Tokai branch at the invitation of the head of the Noro family. It completely burnt down during the Battle of Komaki and Nagakute but was rebuilt. A pond called Kosansui that was named by Nobunaga remains within the temple, and the temple is known to have had a close connection to Nobunaga.
