Kachibehai-ji Temple
Historic Site
This temple is believed to have been located at Gakuden Tsunoike. It is thought to have been built in the eighth century, but the details are not known. There is a tradition of a temple in this area that was abandoned during the Jokyu War (1221), and even today, the local place names “Kamibutai” and “Amidaike-mawari” survive. The spot where the temple is thought to have stood is now a warehouse for the Suntory Kisogawa plant, and fragments of tile have been excavated.
