Former Horibe Residence

Architecture
Construction date: Early Meiji Era

Designation: National registered tangible cultural property

Comment: The former Horibe family residence consists of buildings associated with the Horibe family, a family of the samurai class in the Inuyama castle town who served the Naruse clan that ruled Inuyama Castle. The compound consists of the main house, a high wall, an annex, a connecting passage, a storehouse, and a workshop. These valuable buildings preserve the appearance of an old samurai family residence, of which few remain in the Inuyama castle town.
